If your child is absent from school there are a number of ways you can inform school. You can:
- telephone the school office on 0151 677 8438 opt 1 and leave a voicemail
- email our attendance officer (Mr Gregson) at attendance@stpeters-noctorum.wirral.sch.uk
- Come to the school office in person and inform staff.
At St Peter's and across most schools good attendance is classed as above 95%.Â
Every child at St Peter’s Catholic Primary matters. The most important factor contributing to pupil success at our school is regular attendance. The link between attendance and attainment is firmly established. Pupils who attend school regularly achieve more, have stronger friendships with peers and are happier in school. Regular attendance at school is essential if students are to achieve their full potential. We therefore ask parents to work with School as co educators to promote the value of good attendance and punctuality.
Please be aware that the law around compulsory school attendance is now back in force since the start of the Autumn Term. This includes the regulations around leave of absence during term time. There continues to be no entitlement for parents to take their child out of school during term-time, unless this is completely unavoidable.
Â
All schools within Wirral work closely with the Council on school attendance matters. The Council is fully committed to making sure that all children attend school and make the best possible progress. Unauthorised holidays taken during term time can result in Penalty Notices being issued by the Council. As a school, this is something that we would wish to avoid and ask that any holidays be planned for school holiday periods. Â
Â
Any application for leave will be considered if placed in writing to the Head teacher but we very much hope you understand that their is a limited range of exceptional circumstances that we are allowed to accept.
